This position is responsible for the daily performance of the respiratory therapy team, and collaborates with all members of the health care team to provide quality service to our customers. In addition, this position provides oversight for other respiratory therapists, including chart audits and acting as an expert resource for staff. Develops educational materials and delivers ongoing training to staff. Provides non-clinical support to departmental leadership, including policy revisions. This position independently provides respiratory care, pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing to patients in a variety of health care settings.
Wage is based on experience and starts at $33.12/hr.

12 hour Day Shifts with occasional night shift per department needs.
Performs all basic and advanced modalities of respiratory care as prescribed by physicians and/or licensed independent practitioners in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
Monitors daily workflow of departmental processes and works assigned shifts in areas of oversight. Maintains skills to perform all functions in area of oversight.
Coordinates the operations of assigned areas; to include orientation, scheduling, educational needs and assessment of staff competency. Assists departmental leadership in the resolution of systems issues and enforcing departmental policies.
Ensures that standards for compliance, use of equipment, and quality control are met as required by all accrediting, state, and/or federal agencies. Ensures regulatory requirements of the department are met, delegating duties to staff as appropriate. Provides departmental leadership with timely information regarding variances of these standards.
Facilitates quality and safety activities, including department Quality Improvement projects and plans. Assumes oversight of ongoing staff proficiency and competency testing. Ensures quality results through the use and evaluation of staff work, as well as the review of returned results with departmental leadership.
Makes recommendations for technical changes and improvements in their department to the manager. Participates with vendors and technical representatives to maintain equipment services.
Provides input into hiring, orientation, educational needs, and performance reviews of other personnel.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
Associate or technical degree required.
Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
(RRT). A current license in state practiced as required by state law. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required.
Must be knowledgeable of clinical techniques, applications and equipment as typically obtained through 3 years of clinical experience. Must possess highly effective human relation skills necessary to interface with patients, families, staff and other healthcare personnel.
Must demonstrate ability to lead and motivate the team. Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision, and to work independently. Must possess excellent organizational skills, demonstrates critical thinking skills as well as effective human relations and communication skills.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred, including PFT, SDS, NPS, NRP, ACCS and/or AE-C.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
