The role you’ll contribute:
The Director is a registered professional nurse who has the most direct impact on the care and services that patients and families require throughout their hospital experience. The Director reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and is responsible for the continual operation of specified nursing unit(s). The Director is able to demonstrate critical thinking skills, creativity, and has the knowledge to manage resources to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. The Director is skilled in coaching, motivating, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in the delivery of services for our patient population. The Director assures quality of care is delivered for our patients and demonstrates effective stewardship of scarce resources. The Director is the change agent for the assigned areas of responsibility and are responsible for implementing any changes that the unit is required to undergo. The Director actively participates in outstanding customer service, including service to patients, families, physicians, and other contacts, and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful.

Deliver patient centered nursing care using the SHARE/ Whole Care principles to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
Establishes a compassionate environment by providing physical, emotional and spiritual support to the patients, their families and staff members.
Provides quality care by adhering to Standards of Practice, measuring health outcomes against patient centered goals.
Utilize multidisciplinary team strategies to achieve quality outcomes.
Protects patients and team members by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
Maintains patients’ confidence and protects their health information.
Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by effectively communicating information, responding to request, building rapport, participating in team problem solving methods.
Has knowledge of and understands current TJC Standards for the clinical aspect of the department.
Advocates for the patients and promotes healthy teamwork with the multidisciplinary team.
Maintains nursing operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing policies, procedures and best practice.
Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, helping with the orientation process and training.
Maintains nursing staff accountabilities by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, appraising job results, performing annual evaluations.
Maintains budget and productivity on the clinical units.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Registered Nurse with Bachelors Degree.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
3 years of Managerial or Charge Nurse Experience
2 years of Critical Care Experience
Registered Nurse License to practice in the state of Texas or a Compact Registered Nurse License from a NCLA Compact State
