Registered Nurse (Intensive Care Unit)
The registered nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit of the Directorate of Nursing Services, Office of Chief Nurse Executive functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary medical team to provide healthcare which maximizes the quality of life for Veterans, Department of Defense (DOD) beneficiaries (active duty and retired), and their family members with critical medical and surgical needs requiring intensive and/or intermediate levels of nursing care. The RN role includes initial and ongoing, physical and psychosocial assessment/ reassessment to determine the patient's nursing care needs.
