Pulmonologist Opportunity in Beautiful, Historic
The Central Alabama Veterans Healthcare System is seeking a full-time Pulmonologist to join our team! Work is completed in an inpatient and outpatient setting. The position offers a great work-life balance, a manageable workload with opportunity to contribute and grow the department.
The Pulmonologist will treat many breathing-related conditions including asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, tuberculosis and work-related lung diseases. Evaluate, treat sleep conditions, and interpret sleep studies. Interpret pulmonary function tests (PFTs). Must have critical care skills. May be required to rotate on-call duties during weekends, evenings, and holidays. Runs the Home Oxygen Clinic and provides evaluations and management to patients who meet criteria for Home Oxygen as per compliance with VHA and/ or CAVHCS directives and policies. Travel between the Montgomery and Tuskegee Campus as outpatient clinic may be held at these locations and consultation services will be provided to all other VA clinics under Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) catchment.
Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen, proficient in English
Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State.
Board certified preferred but will accept board eligible.
Must be highly motivated, team-oriented, and committed to the care and good health for our Veterans.
Annual performance bonus up to an additional $15K per year

49 days of annual paid time off: 26 days paid vacation;13 days paid sick leave; 11 paid federal holidays and possible 5 days paid absence for CME.
