Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Monitor Technician performs duties related to the cardiac telemetry monitor of patient care and maintenance of equipment. Monitor Technician observes monitors without distraction. The Monitor Tech is accountable for monitoring the telemetry system, detecting and reporting cardiac arrhythmia and for generating tracing on assigned, monitored patients. The Monitor Tech possess knowledge of basic medical terminology, basic telephone skills.
Education Required: High School Diploma or GED Certification
Monitor Tech Course Completion Certification Preferred: College Degree
Experience Preferred: Hospital experience for this Monitor Tech role
Certification Required: American Heart Association approved BLS/CPR
