The Registered Nurse in the EDIN (Emergency Department Inpatient Nurse) is responsible and accountable for monitoring and caring for inpatients who are admitted waiting for an inpatient bed. This role will provide med/surg nursing experience within the Emergency Department setting. After one year of experience in EDIN, the RN will have an opportunity to cross-train and transition into the emergency department.
This position works 60 hours per 2 week pay period (.75 FTE) on the overnight shift, 12 hour shifts, and every third weekend rotation.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
MN RN License
BSN or higher preferred
Certification by Emergency Nurses Association (CEN) and/or Advanced Trauma Nursing (CATN)
1 year of emergency department, med/surg, or critical care experience
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire
