Carl Vinson VAMC is seeking a Registered Nurse for Urgent Care Unit. The Staff Nurse provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients and families in a nursing care unit area. He/she is accountable for adhering to established policies standards of care and standards of practice. Provides direct and indirect nursing care in a self - directed manner. The incumbent reports directly to the Nurse Manager of the Urgent care unit/area. The Urgent Care Registered Nurse should be competent in the following areas these are some of their duties but not all: - Cardiac/Vital Sign Monitors - use/interpretation of EKG monitor/results. - Proper Aseptic technique for IV placement, maintenance, and removal - Proficient with IV infusion pumps - Proper use/documentation of glucometer including interpretation of results - Proper use and documentation of I-Stat. - Catheter placement and maintenance - Proficient in use of Doppler ultrasound machine and bladder scanner - Picc line care and documentation - Port-a-cath insertion, maintenance and removal - Blood transfusion and documentation - 1/0 placement/removal, maintenance and documentation - Cardiac rhythm interpretation and documentation - Administration of IV drips, documentation and maintenance - Triage Work Schedule: 7:30 am - 8:00 pm 3 days per week various day Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Please read qualifications section and how you will be evaluated section before applying.
