The Hot Springs VA is recruiting NEW GRAD Registered Nurses for inpatient units! Come join our amazing team! Are you going to graduate in the next six months, or are a new graduate with less than six months experience? We invite you to apply! Nursing care is the dynamic and skilled application of a systematic body of knowledge to the diagnosis and treatment of actual or potential health problems. Competent nursing care is provided in the context of the nursing process, which encompasses all significant action taken by the nurse in providing care, and forms the foundation of clinical decision-making. Nursing care must be individualized to meet a particular patients' unique needs and situations. As a Registered Nurse - NEW GRAD, you are responsible for the following to include, but not limited to: Providing a full range of nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavior problems. Patients who range in age from adults (18-64) and adults (65+) with common medical conditions including; cardiac, respiratory, infectious, renal, hematology, endocrine, psychiatric, and oncology disease processes. Must be able to use sound judgment to prioritize work assignment based on patient needs, prioritizing patients according to urgent needs. Functions independently in the complex environment and must be able to adapt to the constant changing environment. Collaborates with members of the multi-disciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care. Collaborates with physicians and ancillary services in planning and implementing the patient's plan of care. Demonstrates knowledge and competencies in technical and operational knowledge in nursing, able to adhere to unit-based protocols, with the ability to apply these skills in the clinical setting. The RN must complete and demonstrate knowledge of mandatory and annual competencies for equipment and procedures. Treats all Veterans, families, and other healthcare providers with dignity and respect. Listens to and acknowledges Veteran and family perspectives and choices. Veteran and family knowledge, values, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds are incorporated into the planning and delivery of care in a non-judgmental, nondiscriminatory manner. The RN must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively apply all aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice setting.
