Employees will be required to provide direct patient care to numerous Critical Care areas. Various certifications may be required depending on work assignment.
Provides care to acutely and critically ill patients, in a highly technical and ongoing monitoring environment. These patients are facing life-threatening problems with varying needs, which require extensive medication protocols and therapies. Provides direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles.
Education/Experience: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and meets the requirements as specified in the Nursing Administrative Policy # PP-101.
Licensing/Certification Requirements: Current License by the Nevada State Board of Nursing to Practice as a Registered Nurse, Basic Life support (BLS) certification, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS). Some positions may require one or more of the following: Trauma Nurse Core Certification (TNCC); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP); additional Certification in the Specialty Area assigned.
Two (2) years Critical Care experience in an acute care setting.
Multiple Critical Care certifications to ensure availability to provide direct patient care in many or all units in the hospital.
